How to convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG
iPhones save photos as HEIC to save space. Most of the time you never notice, until a website or app refuses the file.

What HEIC is
HEIC is the format iPhones use by default. It stores photos at about the same quality as JPG in noticeably less space. The downside is support: some websites, upload forms and Windows apps still can't open it.
Option 1: let your iPhone convert when sharing
iPhones convert to JPG automatically in many situations, like attaching to email or transferring to a computer. For transfers, check Settings, Apps, Photos, Transfer to Mac or PC, and choose Automatic.
Option 2: take JPGs from now on
Settings, Camera, Formats, then Most Compatible. New photos are saved as JPG. They take more space on your phone.
Option 3: convert in your browser
Okaysize converts HEIC to JPG on your device, with location data removed, and nothing is uploaded. It works in any modern browser: Safari reads HEIC on its own, and in Chrome, Edge or Firefox, Okaysize loads a HEIC decoder the first time you drop one, which takes a moment once.
