Help
Every message a tool can show has an article here, with the cause and what to try next.
Messages you might see
- "This file type isn't supported here"The tool couldn't recognize the file as a video, image, audio file or PDF it can read.
- "Those pages aren't in this PDF"The pages you chose to split out don't exist in this PDF. Here's how page ranges work and what to type.
- "Your browser can't decode this file's format"The file is a type we support, but it uses a codec your browser can't read.
- "This browser is missing a feature this tool needs"The tool needs a browser feature, such as the built in video encoder, that this browser doesn't have.
- "This file is too big for this device's memory"Your browser ran out of memory while processing. This depends on the device, not on a limit we set.
- "This file looks damaged"Part of the file couldn't be read, usually because it is incomplete or corrupted.
- "This file can't fit under the limit"The file can't get under the size limit without becoming unwatchable or unreadable.
- "This PDF is password protected"Encrypted PDFs can't be changed without the password, so they can't be compressed.
- Stopping a jobYou can cancel any job while it runs. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
- "Processing stopped unexpectedly"Something went wrong that we didn't expect. Reloading usually fixes it.

Using Okaysize
- Is there a file size or daily limit? No. There are no size caps, no length caps and no daily limits on any tool.
- Why didn't my file get smaller? Some files are already compressed about as far as they can go. Okaysize tells you instead of making them worse.
- How do you keep platform limits up to date?Every limit comes from the platform's own help pages, with the date we last checked it.
