Many guides still say 4:5 (1080 × 1350), but Instagram now allows feed photos as tall as 3:4. Taller photos than that are cropped automatically.
What this preset does
This preset crops to 3:4 and resizes to exactly 1080 × 1440, the most screen space a feed photo can take.
Questions
- Is 4:5 still the tallest Instagram size?
- No. Instagram's help center now lists 3:4 (1080 × 1440) as the tallest feed shape.
- What if my photo is landscape?
- This preset crops the sides. For landscape photos, the square post preset keeps more of the image.
- Does this work for carousels?
- Yes, but every photo in a carousel shares the first photo's shape.
