Report an outdated limitWhy files fail on Email
Gmail allows 25 MB per email and Outlook.com 25 MB, but the Outlook desktop app caps internet accounts at 20 MB. A file that works for you can bounce for someone else.
What this preset does
This preset compresses to just under 20 MB, which fits all three, and leaves room for a short message.
Questions
- What happens if my video is over Gmail's limit?
- Gmail replaces the attachment with a Google Drive link. The recipient needs access to your Drive to watch it.
- Is the limit per file or per email?
- Gmail and the Outlook app count all attachments together. Keep the total under the limit.
- Why 20 MB and not 25?
- The Outlook desktop app limits Outlook.com and Gmail accounts to 20 MB, so 20 MB works no matter what the recipient uses.
