How to make a QR code

Turn a link, a Wi-Fi network, an email address, or a phone number into a QR code that never expires, in under a minute.

  • About 1 minute
  • Free, nothing uploaded
  • 4 steps

Steps

  1. Pick the type

Choose URL, Text, Wi-Fi, Email, or Phone at the top of the tool.

  2. Fill in the details

Type the web address, the text, the network name and password, the email address, or the phone number. The QR code appears as you type.

  3. Style it if you like

Open Size, colors, and logo to set the PNG size, pick a code color and background, change the error correction, or click Add a logo.

  4. Download PNG or SVG

Click Download PNG for documents and websites, or Download SVG for print. Scan it with your phone's camera to test it first.

The options, explained

Wi-Fi
Enter the network name, pick the security (WPA or WPA2 or WPA3 for most home routers), and type the password. Turn on Hidden network if it doesn't show up in the list.
Email
Add a subject and message if you want them filled in when the email opens.
Error correction
Low, Medium, High, or Highest. Higher levels survive dirt and damage but make the code denser. With a logo, Highest is used automatically.
PNG size
256, 512, 1024, or 2048 pixels wide. The SVG scales to any size.

Tips

  • Keep the code dark on a light background: many camera apps can't read light codes on dark backgrounds.
  • Short links make simpler codes that scan faster from farther away.
  • Leave the white border around the code when you place it in a design. Scanners need it.

Questions

Will my QR code stop working?

No. Your content is in the code itself, with no redirect, so it never expires.

Is my Wi-Fi password uploaded?
