What PDF/A changes
A PDF/A file carries everything it needs to display: fonts, a color profile, and archive metadata. Okaysize removes what PDF/A doesn't allow, such as JavaScript, automatic actions, and attached files, and makes every comment and form field printable.
Pages with missing fonts
If a page uses fonts that aren't inside the file, or print only CMYK colors, there's no way to make it self contained as it is. Those pages are drawn as sharp 200 dpi images instead, so they look exactly the same. Every other page keeps its real, selectable text.
PDF/A-2b
Okaysize makes PDF/A-2b, the level most portals ask for: the document looks the same forever. If yours requires a specific level such as PDF/A-1a, check with a validator before submitting.
