Your file never leaves your device
Strong encryption
Okaysize uses AES 256, the strongest standard PDF encryption. Anyone opening the file needs the password, in any PDF reader.
Your password stays with you
Encryption happens on your device. The password is never sent anywhere or saved, so keep it somewhere safe: nobody can recover it for you.
How to password protect a PDF
- Add your PDF. Drag your PDF onto the box, or click Choose a file. It opens right in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
- Type a password twice. Enter it in Password and again in Type it again. 12 or more characters is best.
- Choose permissions. Turn off Allow printing or Allow copying text if people who open it shouldn't do those things.
- Click Protect PDF. The PDF is encrypted on your device.
- Download the result. Click Download to save the protected PDF. The original file is left exactly as it was.
