  • Real text, not a picture

Okaysize reads the document's paragraphs, styles, lists, tables, and pictures, then lays them out again as a PDF with embedded fonts. Text stays sharp at any zoom, and you can search and copy it.

  • What comes across

Headings, bold, italic, underline, colors, font sizes, alignment, line spacing, numbered and bulleted lists, tables with merged cells and shading, pictures, page breaks, and the page size and margins. Headers, footers, footnotes, and comments are left out.

  • Fonts

Documents use fonts that live on the writer's computer, such as Calibri or Times New Roman. Okaysize sets text in Open Sans or Lora, close matches for sans serif and serif fonts, so lines can break in slightly different places than in Word.

Questions

Does it work with .doc files?

Only .docx, the format Word has used since 2007. Open a .doc file in Word, Google Docs, or Pages and save it as .docx first.

Will it look exactly like Word?

Close, but not identical: fonts are swapped for open ones and headers and footers are left out. For a pixel perfect copy, use Save as PDF in Word itself.

Is my document uploaded?

No. Word to PDF runs entirely in your browser.
